Maya Stessin has recently re-joined the Chapman Reining Horse team after completing her Master’s degree in Equine Science at Montana State University. Maya started riding when she was six years old in her hometown of Seattle, Washington. She took lessons in all-around equitation, trail riding, western and english, and started reining and showing at age 13.
Maya continued to ride and compete while attending the University of Findlay in Ohio, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science with an emphasis in training. While in college Maya was also a member of the NRHA Intercolliegate Judging Team.
Maya enjoys working with riders of all ages and stages and is currently teaching many of the young riders at Chapman Ranch.
