A big welcome to our newest trainer

Chapman Reining Horses would like to welcome trainer Breann Huyett to the farm! Breann is a 2013 graduate of Delaware State University, where she competed on the women’s equestrian team from 2009-2013. In 2012, she was ranked 2nd in nation for college teams and also earned an All-American title. Welcome Breann!

Florida Classic starts the season off right!

Congratulations to Craig Stonesifer riding Diamond B Gun, the Champion $2,000 added Non-Pro, Champion $3,000 added 7-Up Non-Pro, Champion $1,000 added 7-Up Intermediate Non-Pro, and the Champion $500 added Novice Horse Level 2 Non-Pro at the Florida Reining Classic in Tampa, FL.

January 2014 Touch of Class Award Winner!

Chapman Reining Horses is proud of Chic with Chex (aka Sammy) for earning a Maryland Horse Industry Board Touch of Class Award!!! In 2013, Sammy was the NRHA Intermediate Open World Champion with former trainer Martin Audet. She also earned year-end titles with the Eastern Pennsylvania Reining Horse Association and Virginia Reining Horse Association. Thank you to MHIB representatives Jim Steele, Ross Peddicord, and Val D’Ambrosio for braving the winter weather January 25th to make the presentation. Sammy is the first Maryland reining champion to receive a Touch of Class award!

Welcome Missy Makela!

Chapman Reining Horses would like to welcome our new assistant trainer, Missy Makela, to the farm! Missy is a 2006 graduate of the State of New York University at Morrisville and was the 2013 NRHA Rookie Professional of the Year aboard Leigh Garber’s mare Einstein Revenge. Chapman Reining Horses is excited to have Missy on our team!

Chapman Reining Horses would like to say thank you and good luck to former assistant trainers Martin Audet and Maya Stessin. Martin and Maya are moving to Texas to work with Pete Kyle, an NRHA World Champion, as well as Chairman of the AQHA Judging Committee and Chairman of the USEF Reining Committee. Martin and Maya have had several successful show seasons with Chapman Reining Horses. This year Martin was the 2013 NRHA Intermediate Open Champion aboard Chic with Chex, owned by Donald Burgy, and Maya was in the Top Ten of the 2013 NRHA Limited Open division aboard Whiz Bang Spark, also owned by Donald Burgy. Congratulations to both!

POSTPONED Chapman Reining Horse Clinic

Due to the cold and icy conditions, we are postponing the reining clinic scheduled for January 25th. We will reschedule for a warmer day!

Chapman Reining Horses will be holding a reining clinic at Rising Star Farm for all levels of horses and riders! The clinic will be limited to 12 riders and reservations need to be made by January 18th. Come learn what reining is all about!
Time 9:00 – 4:00
Riders $150
Auditors $25 (bring your own chair)

THREE champions at the EPRHA Spooktacular!

Chapman Champions strike again at the 2013 EPRHA Spooktacular, held at the Dream Park in New Jersey.  Martin Audet won the Intermediate Open Championship on Chic with Chex,  Maya Stessin won the Limited Open on Whiz Bang Spark, and Donald Burgy won the Prime Time Non-Pro on KR Hickory Hurricane.
